a passion for travel

I love to travel, read about travel, and plan for future travel. I love to read and hear about others peoples trips, always taking notes and learning from others’ experiences.

That’s what I want to do here on this site, just share my experiences. I’ll offer what advice I might have, if I loved a hotel or restaurant, and of course share some pictures.

I live in Chicago with my husband and 2 boys. Over the last 20 years, I’ve had the enormous privilege of traveling pretty extensively. Traveling has become part of my identity. I can remember being in grad school and siting with my statistics book on a beach in Aruba, taking red-eye flights in my 20’s and working a full day in a business suit after landing, having my first son and flying to Paris with him when he was just 7 weeks old.

Traveling has changed over the years, smart phones, kids, etc. - and I can’t wait to go somewhere soon.

This site and all my adventures ahead are dedicated to Nahren, who begged me in 2011 to start documenting my travels. I wrote one post about a trip to Portland and stopped.

11 years later, a few months after Nahren passed away, she whispered in my friend Tina’s ear who further encouraged me to start sharing. I’m finally taking your advice, Nahren. You will live in my heart forever. I know you are always with me, everywhere I go. I love you.
